Bozeman MT. Let the adventure begin.

I have finally flown the nest to speak. I am now a flight attendant flying the line not just sitting and waiting. The flight last 56 minutes there 1 hour on return. With a 7 hour nap in between. Not to exciting but better than Boise.
The Count…
I was flight attendant B so I had to do the count, you wouldn’t think it would be that hard but you know it’s not all that easy. I must have counted 3 times going section by section and counting over and over. I tried not to point my finger at the passengers so I would nod my head. This made me laugh, how silly I must look. I had this giant smile on my face and I giggled as I counted. But it was ok the Passengers all smiled back. So my last effort to count I came up with the exact number and we were pretty much set.
I briefed my exit rows, and had them laughing. They said they were all willing to help out if there was an emergency and that’s all I needed to know.
The Departure speech
I started out by laughing at myself when I screwed up the speech. And by laughing at myself it made the passengers laugh. I forgot to breath while saying the little speech and had to take a few stops which I am sure sounded very strange. But not a single passenger told me I sucked so that was good. In fact a lady in row 1 said to me “when you have a moment I need to tell you a story” So I told her I would be back. She was very encouraging kept saying your doing great, and she smiled. I did my little walk, and then headed back to my jump seat. Which took a few minutes to get out because I forgot there was a lock holding it in place. Soon the seat was released and I sat.
After Take off
I found some stickers in the shape of wings and offered them to the kids on the plane, all of which had just gotten back from Disney Land. They were the best kids so quiet and nice, but only one wanted my wing stickers. I guess the stuff in Disney must have been cooler. We started the beverage service, And I am proud to admit that I didn’t run over anyone or spill their drinks. I made small talk and I think offered a pretty good service. After the beverage service was over we had 17 minutes until we landed so I picked up trash and then stopped by the lady in row 1. She told me that when she was in high school, she was a cheerleader, well one day in an assembly she was asked to say the pledge of allegiance. Well when she got up there she recited it and left out four lines or so. She said “you know I was so embarrassed that is something we learned everyday in school and I got up there an just blew it in front of everyone I knew. So don’t you worry you will never see us again and you did a good job. Sometimes mistakes make us better” That lady was so nice I will remember that story for a long time.
So back to my seat I went and before I had to pay close attention I talked with the dad of the kids coming home. I told him how well behaved his kids were and he said yes on the plane they are but in Disney they had me pulling out my hair. The kids told me all about the rides and said the tower of terror felt like landing in the plane. The dad also was shocked by how many lights there were, when you landed in Orange county CA. That the light pollution was a mess. “ What a giant Mess of humanity that is” I believe that’s how he put it. We talked about the little piece of heaven Montana was and just life in general. @ rows up a lady turned to me and asked “how long have you been doing this?” I said “this is my 1st official flight after training. Why did I do something wrong?” She said “no you were the best FA I have ever flown with. You were happy when we got on you were happy the entire time you talked to us and you just looked like you enjoyed the job. I have been very unhappy with some of the others I have flown with. I hope that your this way after years of doing it.” I told her that “ the benefits are so good at this job that they out weigh the bad things that could happen. I am free to go and do and see the world and that makes me so happy that it would take a lot to ruin this job” Then a man one more row up turned around and said what the lady just did. It felt good to know that they enjoyed their flight that I made there night a little better. We landed and they all headed off telling me once again how they enjoyed the flight. I enjoyed the flight, the 1st one was over here’s to a long career.
Hotel…
We took four steps off the airplane and wow we were out of the airport. Not a really big place. But it was beautiful, looked a little like a log home. We got on the van and off we went. Each of us was given a room and we headed to sleep. I didn’t look around to much it was late and it was Bozeman not to much to do. So I took the pen in my room as the 1st trip souviner. I watched a little T.V and went to sleep.
Wake up
Woke up in time got ready headed to the lobby. Met the crew went to airport. The sunrise was awesome the mountains were beautiful and it felt so peaceful. I will return here and explore the rivers and near by valleys. I am going to look up a trail in the area and ad it to my list I will let you know which one. Outdoorsygirl we have to go there ok…
The flight home
It was a good flight, all bussiness men and women. The speech went great my seat came out and no one really talked but I still enjoyed it. I can say I don’t think I can ever top the feeling of that 1st flight and although the people will be good on other flights they will never be like the 1st ones. I have a good job I hope to always feel that way, give or take a few days. I love the feeling of the freedom, last night Bozeman maybe tomorrow key west. I have found something that sooths the traveler inside, a little comfort for the unsettled sole…

Glad that the first one was such a nice experience.

I think you should collect pens from every hotel you stay in. That would be cool.

I can't wait to go to Bozeman. It sounds so good!
